As an 'Injury', Badly Bleeding can be removed by visiting the Doctor's Office at the 'Hospital' location for a +2% increase to DOOM, the player character can click on their injuries individually and pay a certain amount of Funds to either remove or reduce the level of Injury inflicted. Injuries come in three levels, ranging from Major, Minor, and Stabilized. By going through surgery, you can reduce a Major injury to a Minor injury, or a Minor Injury to a Stabilized injury...Some Minor Injuries and all Stabilized injuries remove themselves from the Status Effects page after solving a mystery, whereas all Major Injuries and many Minor Injuries remain with you until you have them cured.

Also, many of the Injury status effects also stack, even if they are copies. Injuries can be inflicted randomly by events on occasion, but most injuries in the game are actually caused in combat by enemies that have special rules/skills that inflict Injuries if you do not successfully block or dodge certain attacks or certain weapon types, or you take too long to kill said enemy before a certain turn passes.

Badly Bleeding is, and should become, the first priority among all other injuries to get treatment for. The chance of 1 Stamina loss for each event or investigation you begin is a raw 50% chance, and if you become locked into a search outside of town, you will lose a lot more Stamina...Not to mention the possibility of getting cursed or injured with something that can increase the damage you are already taking.

Badly Bleeding is among a few of the Major Injuries that are caused when you take an excessive amount of Stamina damage from a certain damage type, likely if you were to get shot by a firearm, or upon failing a high DC trap during an event. These include Torn Muscle, Broken Bones, and other serious Major Injuries that are utterly crippling physically compared to most other Injuries. Badly Bleeding's Damage types in particular are tied to [Shot] and [Sharp], the latter of which covers many sources of damage in the game.

Major Injuries are inflicted much less often than Minor Injuries, and only the strongest and terrifying monsters, or the most dangerous events, can cause Major Injuries regularly. Unfortunately, if you are suffering from Bad Bleeding, you are probably facing one of these instances.

Whether or not in combat you can completely block these 100% of time, I am unsure. Dodging, however risky it may be, might be a better option if you expect an enemy to be powerful enough to 'Break' your block.
